This patient had a visually significant cataract as well as Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy so our guest surgeon, Prof Bruno Trindade performs phaco and a DMEK graft. Just two days ago, he was on the Cataract Coach Podcast (the top podcast in all of ophthalmology!) and we talked about this tricky case. The surgery went beautifully and at the end of the case it looked great. But in the post-op period the patient was noted to have a partial detachment of the DMEK graft. Why? Look carefully at the photo and see if you can figure it out.
