I get emails from viewers asking how to see cases where I am the surgeon operating. This is about as close to a fellowship or observership that I offer and you can learn from anywhere on the planet on your smartphone. There is an entire category of videos on CataractCoach.com called Complete Cataract Cases and those are all unedited cases from start to finish where I am the operating surgeon. Yes, you may need to leave YouTube for a moment and go to the actual CataractCoach.com website where you will find everything neatly organized and with a fantastic search engine. (I start every video saying “CataractCoach.com”, right?) This is a tough case where the pupil is small and the AC is shallow. The other eye had cataract surgery elsewhere with complications and tough sequelae which tells me to tread with caution as the patient’s tissues likely had a lot to do with that. I elect to perform stop-and-chop instead of phaco chop — why? Watch the video to find out.
