This patient presents with a traumatic cataract with extensive zonular loss which means that simply placing an IOL within the capsular bag will be insufficient for long term stability. Our guest surgeon demonstrates the technique of using an Ahmed Segment to secure the capsular bag to the sclera using 8-0 Gore-tex suture. The result is a great outcome with a well-centered IOL that should last for many years and perhaps even the patient’s lifetime.
