
Another option for cataract patients who also have glaucoma is to perform a form of MIGS where we are performing a procedure in the angle of the eye with visualization via a gonio prism. This case uses the BANG procedure (bent ab-interno needle goniectomy) which we have previously covered in a video from Dr Arsham Sheybani (also check out his amazing podcast with CataractCoach). The BANG procedure works well and has one huge advantage: it only requires a 27g or 25g needle to perform, so the cost is negligible.
