1837: phaco & irido-zonulo-hyaloidectomy

This nanophthalmic eye has an axial length of less than 20 mm and is suffering from malignant glaucoma and aqueous misdirection. The decision for surgery was reached which is to include both phaco cataract surgery (to replace the 4+ mm thick cataract with a thin IOL to open the angle) and irido-zonulo-hyaloidectomy to restore proper aqueous flow. This is complex case with a high risk of complications, however our guest surgeon navigates it beautifully and produces an excellent outcome for his patient. So much great learning with this case.
