1807: annular cataract with scarred capsule

It is very unusual to see this type of annular cataract where the remaining lens material is in the shape of a donut. So unusual, in fact, that I have never performed surgery in a case like this. Often the result of trauma, the central lens material has been liquefied and then absorbed, leaving a ring of residual lens material. In this case the central capsule is also scarred. Our guest surgeon does a beautiful job with this challenging case and provides a great visual outcome for the patient. So much to learn from this case!
