Our next video for MSICS week is showing the technique of visco-expression of the nucleus. It is important to avoid letting the nucleus scrape against the corneal endothelium. I have previously shown my technique of using a paracentesis 180 degrees away to mechanically push the nucleus out of the eye. This video shows how you can use visco-elastic to pressurize the eye and express the nucleus safely and efficiently. If you are just learning MSICS, then this technique can certainly help you.
Do you use a block for this procedure or just topical
Topical is not enough for scleral incisions. Either subconj, sub-tenons, or peri/ retrobulbar
Thanks what do you use?
