1151: white cataract and uveitis synechiae

This patient has a long standing history of uveitis which has resulted in synechiae between the iris and the anterior lens capsule. The surgeon uses a B-Hex ring to expand the pupil and then does the double capsulorhexis technique to successfully create the desired 5 mm capsulorhexis. Many factors are discussed in this case including treatment of the inflammation, avoiding repeat synechiae in the pseudophakic state, and more.
