This technique is absolutely critical and it is something that every cataract surgeon must master. It allows us to rescue a run-out capsulorhexis and safely complete it without further complications. It is July and we are at the beginning of the academic here in the USA (and in many other countries particularly in the northern hemisphere) and that means our residents are at the early part in the learning curve. Do yourself a favor and make sure that you master this technique because it will save you, just like it did for me recently.
