
On yesterday’s CataractCoach Podcast we featured Prof. Sourabh Patwardhan MD who runs a training program to teach techniques like phaco chop to beginning surgeons. He starts with a simplified technique which he calls PreTerminal Chop where a groove is sculpted in the nucleus and then the chopper is placed into the nucleus distal to that. This has shown to be a good learning technique for surgeons in training. What is your preferred method of nucleus division?
