Did you notice the new text in our logo? It says, “Cataract, Glaucoma, Cornea & Refractive” because CataractCoach.com is your source for everything anterior segment. As a professor for 22 years, I taught glaucoma surgeries to hundreds of residents over the course of thousands of cases. It was a very regular thing for me to attend a resident on a combined phaco + Ahmed glaucoma valve for patients with neo-vascular glaucoma. These patients also received intra-vitreal anti-VEGF agents as well as pan-retinal photocoagulation. Needless to say, a great cataract surgeon should also have the abilities to perform at least some glaucoma, corneal, and refractive procedures. And in 2025, our new retina sister channel is coming, called RetinaRounds.com — stay tuned for more information. Today’s video showcases a truly world-class glaucoma expert, Professor Ramesh Ayyala from USF Tampa and he presents a complex case of a pediatric patient with Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome.
