We have previously featured the Canabrava technique where an IOL can be fixated to the scleral using segments of 6-0 polypropylene (prolene) with flanges created with cautery. The original technique passed the sutures through the eyelets of the IOL outside of the eye and then the IOL was implanted. In this revised technique the IOL is first injected into the anterior chamber and placed on top of the iris. At this point the 6-0 prolene sutures are passed through the eyelets. Once this is completed the IOL is pushed behind the iris into the posterior chamber (not posterior segment!) and the sutures are tightened and then flanges are created and buried within the sclera.

Great job dr serigo
