Sometimes patients with posterior sub-capsular (PSC) cataracts can have adherent lens opacities stuck on the center of the capsule. This can affect the visual outcome and may necessitate perform a YAG laser capsulotomy at a later date. We have shown other methods of polishing the capsule but in some cases it may be scarred and therefore ineffective. The technique in this video is to use the infusion of BSS (balanced salt solution) from the infusion cannula to hydro-polish the posterior capsule. This seems to work well — have you tried it?
