For polishing of the undersurface of the anterior capsular rim, we can use a friction method with specialized instruments or we can use the I/A probe with low level suction. Which is better?
The friction method is done while the aphakic capsular bag is filled with viscoelastic whereas the I/A probe method can be done at any time whether the eye is aphakic or pseudophakic since it is done under balanced salt solution inflation.
