1932: traumatic cataract with iris damage

Let’s thank this anonymous surgeon for doing a good job helping this patient who suffered from a traumatic cataract and extensive iris damage. This edited video goes through the steps of surgery including the cataract extraction, IOL implantation, and then iris repair. Looking at the photo above, the post-op result is good, but there is something I recommend to make the outcome even better. Can you guess what that is?

  1. Do you think it would it be better to start the tunnel at 2.5mm and then go into the eye at 2mm? This would leave a 0.5mm scleral tunnel into which to bury the bulbs.
