This case is beyond 10 out of 10 in difficulty and our guest surgeon, Dr Steve Safran, is a true master at these incredibly challenging cases. And what I love most about this case is how he is able to change the game plan in the face of a capsular break and still provide the patient with a great visual result. The patient had severe trauma decades ago and is now elderly with a dense cataract and extensive iris loss with poor zonular support. The challenges keep coming when there is a break in the posterior capsule which then requires more work to achieve the desired result. Truly a remarkable surgery and a great learning case for all surgeons, new and old.
