This patient sustained severe ocular trauma which left the eye aphakic with no capsular support and also significant iris damage. Our guest surgeon elected to implant a prosthetic iris with the IOL sutured to the back surface. The result is a good cosmetic outcome with improved visual function. I like the choice of the IOL which has built-in eyelets to ensure secure suture fixation without the risk of slippage.
