This video shows a beginner surgeon in residency who is performing MSICS. I show you this video to encourage you to learn this procedure. This young doctor can learn MSICS and that means that you, with hands that are experienced, can certainly learn it as well. I assure you, one day you will be so thankful that you learned MSICS because it will rescue you from a tough case. No one understands the stress of ocular surgery like ophthalmologists do. We work in such a tiny space that a fraction of a millimeter is the difference between success and failure. Our surgery changes the way the patient sees the world, every waking moment for the rest of life! This video does not show a perfect surgery but rather it shows the effort put to learn surgery. And remember that we are all students for life — I continue to learn and improve my surgical skillset and I’m sure you do too.
