1365: suture fixated Cionni Ring (CTR)

This patient sustained ocular trauma which resulted in a traumatic cataract and loss of about 5 to 6 clock hours of zonular support. The surgeon uses a Cionni Ring which is a capsular tension ring (CTR) which has an extra eyelet to aid in suture fixation. Then using 6-0 Prolene the surgeon uses the Canabrava flange technique to securely fixate the CTR to the sclera. At this point phaco can be performed successfully. This is really a beautiful case and I know that you’ll enjoy learning from it.
