1280: phaco trabeculotomy canaloplasty

This video shows one of our residents doing her very first surgery with the OMNI surgical device for angle based procedures. She completed the cataract surgery and now is preparing to do 360 degrees of visco-canaloplasty and then 180 degrees of trabeculotomy using this device. There are some important pearls that you can learn from this video including the positioning. The pic above shows that the patient’s head is angled away from the surgeon while the microscope is tilted towards the surgeon. This allows for better visualization of the angle once the gonio prism is placed on the cornea. If this young surgeon in training can perform this procedure, then any seasoned cataract surgeon can pick it up easily.
