1138: my 100 year old cataract patient

This patient is 100 years old and she now has decided that she would like cataract surgery. Certainly we are expecting a challenge here on many fronts: the tissues are weaker, the zonular support is lax, the nucleus is dense and gummy, and the systemic anesthesia therapeutic window is narrow. We have previously explained about the challenges of doing cataract surgery for patients in their 90s, and this takes it to an even higher level.
