3080: dislocated IOL in an eye with melanoma

Our podcast guest yesterday was Dr David Crandall from the Henry Ford Hospital health system in Detroit, Michigan and he is a true expert in complex anterior segment cases such as managing dislocated IOs. This case is even more rare and challenging: it is the only seeing eye of a patient with ocular melanoma. You can see from the photo the dark pigmented spots of tumor spread and those must not be touched during the surgery to fixate the IOL. And also in today’s video, a bonus case of IOL exchange where a hydrophilic acrylic IOL became opacificed and required explanting after a YAG laser capsulotomy. Some great learning cases that I know you’ll enjoy.
