Our guest is Professor Walid Zbiba who is a renowned ophthalmic surgeon and teacher of the next generation of surgeons. He is also President of the Tunisian College of Ophthalmology and has personally trained hundreds of ophthalmologists in his residency and fellowship programs. What makes him so unique is that his teaching is hands-on, where the young surgeons are taking direct care of all patients and performing surgery under the supervision of professors. These young surgeons learn by doing, by operating, by using a hands-on approach. This is amazing and it is a paradigm shift in the way that surgery should be taught and for this, we should all applaud him.
