After completing 1,200 cataract surgeries, a surgeon is typically considered experienced and should demonstrate a mature level of surgical judgment, consistency, and intra-operative finesse. By this stage, the surgeon should be proficient with a variety of techniques such as chopping methods, complex capsulorhexis management, and able to adapt fluidly to variations in lens density and ocular anatomy. Efficiency, tissue respect, and stable outcomes become hallmarks of performance, and the surgeon is often ready to manage increasingly complex cases. At this point you should be at least this good and you should focus at perfecting every step of the procedure. What is your opinion of this case and what advice do you have for improvement?
