
I am proud of any resident surgeon who is driven to learn new techniques during training and then to upload those videos (you can upload your video here: https://cataractcoach.com/submit-your-video-here/) for review on CataractCoach.com and in this case, the resident is learning vertical chop. This is case 220 for this young surgeon and the skills are already pretty good. There are some important surgical pearls to learn, one of which is to keep the vertical chopper away from the capsulorhexis margin. The vertical chop should be more central — in fact, that’s it’s advantage. Watch the video and please comment below with helpful suggestions for our anonymous resident surgeon.
