2324: understanding hand position in phaco

Our guest surgeon is Prof. Lloyd Williams from Duke University who had this split screen video so that we can see the hand position as well as the microscope view during phaco. These types of videos have been featured on CataractCoach many times before (see here) and they are popular among the younger surgeons who are learning cataract surgery. There are some important subtleties such as holding the cannula hub for safety (which of course, we have already covered – see here). Watch carefully and I’m sure you will pick up some tips, even if you are an advanced surgeon. It’s like visiting someone’s operating room but from the comfort of your own home via your computer / mobile device.
