In our recent podcast with Dr Shannon Wong, he explained that he was doing more IOL exchanges in eyes with a prior YAG capsulotomy and an open posterior capsule. Our standard teaching is that when this is done, we should put a three-piece IOL with haptics in the sulcus and the optic captured behind the capsulorhexis. But what if the patient wants to exchange one multifocal IOL for another multifocal IOL, and both are single-piece acrylic designs? In this video, he shows us the tips and tricks that allow that to happen. What do you think of this technique?
