2227: explant LAL and replace with trifocal

This patient received a light adjustable lens (LAL) and was not happy with the performance of the IOL even after the power adjustment and fine-tuning. The patient was expecting the ability to read without glasses and was disappointed in the performance of this monofocal IOL in that regard. For true near vision the patient elected to have an IOL exchange where the LAL was explanted and replaced with a trifocal IOL. Keep in mind that the LAL is silicone (unlike most other modern IOLs which are acrylic) and that can make explantation more challenging.
