2035: kebab technique for dropped nucleus

Every cataract surgeon will encounter the complication of a dropped nucleus. This is to be expected even with perfect surgical skill because there is a wide variety of patient anatomy plus there are increasing issues with prior intra-vitreal injections damaging the posterior capsule. In this video our guest surgeon uses the kebab technique (like cooking meat on the rotisserie) to impale the nucleus and then use the phaco probe to emulsify it. This is more efficient than using the phaco fragmatome. Plus learn in this video which cataract surgeons never drop a nucleus in their careers (hint: the ones who are not fully truthful!)
