1995: tilting the nucleus makes chop easy

Some surgeons desire to learn variations of phaco chop but they are uncomfortable with placing the chopper around the lens equator (and under the anterior capsular rim) for horizontal chop. This technique solves that issue by bringing one part of the nucleus above the capsule. This tilting of the lens nucleus allows us to go around the lens equator without placing the chopper within the capsule. I use this technique often and it produces great results with a very high margin of safety. I highly recommend that you try it.
