1972: toric guidance system gets confused

Remember that you should trust your surgical judgment more than any machine. In this case, the toric guidance system gets confused and places the yellow 180 degree line in the wrong position due to confusion from the ink marks. This, in turn, draws the blue toric IOL guidance lines in the incorrect alignment which would lead to a poor outcome. Fortunately, this surgeon trusted his/her own judgment and determined the cause of confusion and rectified the issue. Always, always, always trust your surgical judgment when you suspect that something is not quite right.
