With the development of advanced tissue processing of donor corneas, performing DMEK surgery has been greatly simplified. We are now able to get DMEK grafts that are pre-cut to the desired thinness with a specific diameter and then stained/marked and even pre-loaded into an injector system. This facilitates the surgery and makes it more predictable and precise.
