1803: broken IOL complications

IOLs are delicate and when we roll them and compress them in order to fit through smaller incisions, rarely the IOL can end up with damaged or broken. This video shows two cases, the first is a routine case where the implantation of a single-piece acrylic seemingly goes well but when the optic does not center, the surgeon realizes that the haptic is broken. The second case is even tougher because the first IOL ends up going through the posterior capsule and into the vitreous cavity, then after it is explanted, the new three piece IOL has another complication…
