We have a whole section devoted to femtosecond laser cataract cases and we both know that it is not a magical laser that makes cataract surgery perfect. There is even a doubt as to whether there are actual tangible benefits from using the femtosecond laser in cataract surgery. With that said, I still think that you should learn every technique and technology that is available to you — it is better to have more tools in your toolbox, even if you typically just use a few of them most of the time. This case is a resident surgeon who is using the femtosecond laser for the first time. In addition, this is the first time that s/he is implanting a trifocal IOL. Good learning!
