1788: cortical cleaving hydro-dissection

I learned about cortical cleaving hydro-dissection from I. Howard Fine MD, an amazing surgeon and innovator in the world of cataract surgery. The concept is to tent up the anterior capsular rim so that the hydro-dissection fluid goes between the capsule and the cortex. This allows mobilization of the cortex so that after nucleus removal, there is virtually no remaining cortex to be aspirated with the IA probe. Our guest surgeon does a beautiful demonstration of this technique. Give it a try and leave a comment below if you find success with it.
