This seemingly easy step of surgery can be quite challenging and expert surgeons know that the risk of capsular complications during cortex removal is real. In the USA coaxial irrigation/aspiration tends to be more popular while in other countries the bimanual approach is favored. Both work well and this curriculum lesson will cover both.
