1712: fibrotic anterior capsule will not tear

This patient sustained ocular trauma which resulted in a white cataract as well as fibrosis of the anterior lens capsule. The capsulorhexis starts out relatively smoothly but then an area of fibrotic anterior lens capsule prevents it from continuing. So now what do you do? You have 75% of the capsulorhexis complete but you simply cannot tear across the fibrotic membrane?
