Our anonymous surgeon sent in this video asking for a critique of this cataract surgery. It is a good routine case and the surgeon is skilled at performing phaco chop. The reason the video was sent, however, was because the surgeon wanted to know if his/her skills were good because his/her primary speciality is vitreo-retinal surgery. Can a vitreo-retinal surgeon be a great cataract surgeon? Of course, the answer is YES and I know of multiple VR surgeons who are fantastic cataract surgeons.
