1377: why your surgical volume may drop

If you are a surgeon in residency training or fellowship, I have something to tell you that you may find surprising. In your near future, when you transition from training to practice, your surgical volume may actually drop.   1. Want to do more surgery? Easy. Spend time with your patients in the office. Answer all of their questions and concerns. Return all phone calls. Be super available to your patients. Guess what? In a few years you are going to be busy clinically and surgically. Let your patients do the advertising for you.
