This complete cataract case features a patient who underwent a prior pars plana vitrectomy for a retinal detachment and then another retina procedure to remove the silicone oil. Since that time, a cataract has developed and on the operating room table you see many oil droplets in the anterior chamber, up against the corneal endothelium. This video shows a very simple technique for complete removal of these oil droplets. We also discuss refractive outcomes since the patient’s other eye does not have much cataract development and the patient is also highly myopic.
