1331: femto laser cataract surgery

I am a fan of learning as many different techniques as you can. Learn to use all of the machines, including the femtosecond lasers. These devices have been around for more than a decade and they can be useful in certain cataract cases. While I do not find them useful in more routine cataract cases, other surgeons prefer them for all cases. And that’s great – all surgeons should find what works best in their hands and in their patients. This is a routine case where the guest surgeon uses the femtosecond laser for the incision, the capsulotomy, the nucleus division, and even for corneal astigmatism treatment.
