
This video shows the use of 23g or 25g forceps to create the capsulorhexis via the paracentesis incision. This allows us to inflate the anterior chamber so that it is more pressurized than the intra-lenticular pressure. This helps to prevent the radial runout of the capsulorhexis. Using the small gauge forceps is helpful in this situation because if we made the wider phaco incision, we would not be able to hyper-pressurize the anterior chamber since the viscoelastic would burp out.
