Flip and chop is a great phaco technique for a lens nucleus of moderate density. In a very safe and controlled manner, the nucleus can be efficiently removed while being gentle to the corneal endothelium. This is a complete cataract case of me operating for a routine case. You will see from the video that the efficiency is very high (5 min case time, minimal fluid through the eye, and very little ultrasound energy) and the end result looks great. This video will explain the key to achieving success with this technique. It is something that you certainly must learn.
