Our guest surgeon is Dr. Val Apostolov from Amsterdam and he demonstrates a technique that I have never seen before: suturing the haptic of a toric multifocal IOL to the capsular tension ring (CTR) in order to provide rotational stability in this case with compromised zonular support. He states that he learned this technique from John Odette MD from Austin, Texas, USA. I enjoy this type of innovation and thinking and I will keep it in mind if I have a case like this in the future.
