There are some great surgical pearls for dealing with small pupils during cataract surgery and this video explains some of the very best ones. Remember that the cataract is about 9 mm in diameter so if we have a small 3 or 4 mm pupil, then it becomes much more of a challenge since we must still remove this large cataract through the small pupil.
