Time for another Cataract Quiz. Look carefully at the photo — the IOL has just been implanted and now it is slowly unfolding. The surgeon is just about to dial it into the capsular bag when something peculiar is noticed. What do you see?

    1. Also need to consider if IOL has angulated haptics. If a planar IOL that is truly biconvex is inverted, it may not have much of a difference in dioptric effect, but it is still not ideal given that the manufacturer has likely specified a particular orientation

    1. Maybe. Put your glasses on backwards. You’ll see there is a difference. Just implant it correctly and there is nothing to worry about.
