In the USA, we often get access to new technologies later than other countries due to the hurdles required to get new products approved and promoted. In the case of the Alcon PanOptix trifocal lens implant, the USA approval was in September 2019 so cataract surgeons have had only a few months to use this IOL. The PanOptix is part of the Acrysof family and US surgeons have many years of experience with that line.
