
The irrigation / aspiration probe is placed in the eye and we begin cortex removal. But as we try to strip the cortex from the capsular bag, it shallows, even collapses. Normally the infusion pressure keeps the capsular bag open during cortex removal and it is about 4 mm deep in the center. But in this case, that drops to less than 2 mm. Why?
