2786: from the smallest to the biggest

Comparison of two eyes undergoing cataract surgery, featuring a congenital cataract in a baby's eye on the left and a dense white cataract in a large myopic eye on the right. Informative text about the procedure and operating surgeon included.

Yesterday on the CataractCoach Podcast (the top podcast in all of ophthalmology!) we featured Dr Rafael Vazquez Rojas from Mexico who was teaching the best way to go from a beginner to a master surgeon. Part of that growth is being able to handle the full spectrum of cases and when it comes to cataract that means from doing a congenital cataract in a baby to performing MSICS for a dense white cataract. In the pediatric case, the two incisions are just 1 mm wide whereas in the MSICS case the incision is many times larger, at least 8 mm wide. In this video he shows us great techniques for handling both of these types of cases. Remember that the purpose of the CataractCoach Podcast is to teach you the secrets of having a successful career! You owe it to yourself to listen every week (podcast is available on all services like Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Google, and more — just search for it)
