1719: Crater Chop Technique

This resident cataract surgery case shows the crater chop technique where a central section of the nucleus is bowled out and then horizontal chop is performed by simply holding the nucleus mechanically, without the need for vacuum from occlusion. This gives a wide window of time in which to accomplish the chop and some beginner surgeons find this to be advantageous.
